Some common indicators of poor gut health are:

Digestive Issues: Stomach problems are commonplace every once in a while. However, if symptoms such as bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, or acidity occur frequently, it can be an indicator of poor gut health.

Diversify Your Diet: You will need to eat a variety of food and nutritions items such as whole grains, fruits, meat, vegetables, dairy, etc. The nutrients absorbed from these items will help your gut regain its lost vitality and operate optimally.

Avoid Processed Food: Minimise intake of processed food religiously. They offer low nutrition and can ruin the balance of the gut, contributing towards various ailments.

Drink Water Regularly: Consuming water at regular intervals throughout the day is another way to boost gut health and digestion. Humans are 70% water, after all!

Stress Management: Keep your stress down by performing yoga, breathing techniques, meditation, or any other techniques that work for you. Chronic stress can also hurt one’s gut health.

Gets sufficient sleep: A minimum of 7 hours of sleep is needed to help your body and gut in particular to function optimally.

Regular exercise: Engaging in physical activity of your choice will support your overall health and keep your body active at all times, which contributes towards optimal functioning of the gut.

Minimise drug intake: Use medicines to counter any other health issues you may have judiciously since these drugs can impact your gut microbiota. Seek professional advice to understand the drug's impact and how you can minimise its impact on your gut health.

Probiotic Supplements: Consider taking probiotic supplements to improve the good bacteria count. Be sure to consider the supplement's implications and other considerations before beginning the dosage.
